Rubber band was the most common
response, being used throughout the country. Gum band proved to be an "only in Pittsburgh"
word once again, while elastic is used in New England.
Other responses included "elastic band" in Utah and Massachusetts and "rubber binder"
and "binder" both from White Bear Lake Michigan.
