What do you call "A sweet drink containing carbonated water and flavoring?"

In my experience, whether it's called 'soda' or 'pop' is a hotly contested issue. I grew up in upstate New York and went to school in Pittsburgh. When people would say 'pop' I would have no idea what they were talking about. This question is probably a very good example of dialect boundaries.

Another interesting thing to note about the results of this question is how the dialect boundaries run North-South instead of East-West like most others. I don't have an explanation for this, but I love how defined the boundaries are.
